Scarf PICK OF THE WEEK
As promised, I will be back to bringing you my weekly scarf picks. It’s so nice to re-visit designs I haven’t looked at for a while and think about how I can develop ideas and themes further.

This week our scarf pick is ‘When the Cat’s away, the Mice will Play’ silk satin scarf. This was from a collection of designs based on proverbs which took a whimsical and cheeky take on these traditional sayings. Here I have imagined this saying as playful jester mice wreaking havoc while their aloof prim and proper feline Kings and Queens look on in dismay.
This theme fits in very well with my general style and approach, taking the traditional silk scarf – the archetypal chic accessory – and re-inventing it through use of bold and contemporary colour and subversive imagery to create a more interesting piece.
I was delighted when stylist Emma Breden contacted us to use the ‘When the Cat’s Away’ Scarf to feature in Love Magazine ‘The Ballad of Baby K’ issue back in 2012. The whole shoot was in a retro 50s beachfront style with all the garments in sugary pastel shades, so this soft candy pink scarf was perfect to add a little bit of print into the mix. How perfect does it looked styled as a chic headscarf?
We currently have only ONE of these left in stock! So don’t delay or these playful mice will run away!
